In one ongoing case, our Principal was instructed by one of the UK’s leading volume housebuilders as part of its due diligence process prior to taking an option on an 80ha conifer-replanted ancient woodland site under private ownership.JFL identified development potential on 12ha of the site, adjacent to an existing settlement, and proposed a strategy that delivered restoration to broadleaf cover for the remaining 68ha over 40-50 years, and public access.The application is now proceeding through the planning system with support from Natural England. The LPA is not enthusiastic; but we can deal with that.
